Areas of work
In every area of the economy, information technology plays a central role – from the execution of operating processes to controlling technical installations. The rapid expansion of the Internet and associated applications has led to continued growth in the importance of information technology. In the service area, the demand for IT solutions is now particularly high.
Information technology studies at the HSR enable graduates to participate in complex projects involving software development, network design and maintenance as well as in all areas of service and production, and to take over leadership tasks.
Graduates work in all areas of the economy. Employers include service and industrial plants, software manufacturers, consultancy firms, service providers in telecommunications, manufacturers of hard- and software for telecommunications and IT networks, network companies, and public authorities. You may, for instance, gain your first experience in software development or in the field of software technologies. Soon, you will be able to take over the leadership of a project or group responsibility. Perhaps you even have the objective of becoming independent and thus taking on the various tasks of running a company.
