The Office for Equal Opportunities works towards an open and future-oriented university culture that fully embraces every aspect of men’s and women’s lives. Our university strives for real equal opportunities and a balanced representation of both sexes at all levels.
The Office develops measures to ensure long-term integration of equality issues at a strategic level and their implementation in quality assurance, teaching and human resources development.
The Office for Equal Opportunities has been implementing projects to increase female participation in technical programmes and the number of female lecturers since 2001. The Office is also involved in research projects as part of the Institute for Gender and Diversity (IGD-FHO).
Most of the projects are sponsored by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SBFI) as part of the national ‘Equal opportunities for women and men in technical universities’ programme.
